Cupping

Cupping is the application of a special cup to the skin to create a vacuum, gently pulling up the skin and connective tissue(fascia). It is a popular technique used to relieve pain, decrease tension , promote circulation and much more.

Cupping is a relaxing treatment that can feel like a deep tissue massage but in reverse. Cups are a commonly placed along the shouders, back and legs.

A cupping session can leave temporary red marks which last 2 to 5 days. The darker the marks, the more blood stagnation there is in that area. Stagnation of blood is a result of tense, overworked and fatigued muscles. With blood stagnation comes pain and cupping is a very effective tool to reduce this stagnation alone or in combination with acupuncture and massage.
